  • Protection and safety technology ensures disruption-free power line operation
  • Optimised monitoring will reduce operating and maintenance costs
  • Expertise in energy technology is one of the reasons for this contract award

The so-called SuedOstLink, which is currently under construction, represents a central component of a modern and efficient power grid in Germany. In order to ensure the smooth operation of the underground cable line, safety installations are required along its entire route, which are installed above ground.

This is where the Substations/HV Germany East profit center of EQOS Energie comes into play. On behalf of transmission network operator TenneT Germany, it will provide the electrical installation services for the new construction of a 525-kV DC cable section station, a 525-kV DC border cable section station, and two fibre-optic cable intermediate stations. In this context, it is important to ensure close coordination with the other trades and to comply with the high occupational safety standards required by the SuedOstLink construction site regulations. The solution-oriented approach and flexible project handling implemented at EQOS are very useful in this regard.

The EQOS Energie team is well-prepared for the requirements

Wladimir Haak, head of the profit center: “Our colleagues are taking on a highly responsible task here. The cable section stations will ensure a reliable flow of electricity. Fibre-optic cable intermediate stations will transmit important operating data reliably between the grid connection points and the converters. This enables easy monitoring and effective control of the line, which reduces operating and maintenance costs.”

With its wealth of experience in the field of energy technology, EQOS Energie is ideally positioned to meet these requirements. This also specifically applies to occupational health and safety, which has always been a top priority for the EQOS Group and represents an explicit component of the company’s objectives.

Maintaining security of supply and competitiveness

Uwe Trampnau, managing director in charge at EQOS Energie: “Highly performant supply networks are a crucial prerequisite for the security of supply, competitiveness, and ultimately for the prosperity of our society. The fact that EQOS Energie was commissioned with the realisation of those systems that enable the safe and fault-free operation of the SuedOstLink is a great vote of confidence. As a Siemens Solution Partner for protection and control technology, we stand for reliable implementation and quality orientation down to the last detail.”

The EQOS Energie team, consisting of two site managers and up to ten fitters, will perform the extensive work at four different sites and as part of an ambitious schedule with a project duration from February to the end of 2025.
