EQOS Energie donates EUR 20,000 for emergency relief for the flooding disaster in Germany and Austria

19. July 2021
  • The donation will benefit the Technical Relief Service (THW) Foundation and the Austrian Red Cross
  • An aid fund is being established for EQOS Energie employees who are particularly affected

EQOS Energie, one of the leading infrastructure service providers and a partner to energy supply companies in Germany and Austria, is donating a total of EUR 20,000 for emergency relief in the regions affected by flooding. EUR 10,000 each will be given to the Technical Relief Service (THW) Foundation in Germany and the Austrian Red Cross, two organisations that take care of both the victims and the destroyed infrastructure locally in the crisis regions.

Eric Mendel, CEO of EQOS Energie: “These inconceivably massive amounts of water have claimed numerous victims and destroyed livelihoods. Our hearts go out to the families and the people affected by the floods. With our donations to the THW Foundation and the Austrian Red Cross, we would like to make a contribution to speedy and effective local aid.”

In addition, the company provides support to those employees particularly affected by the flooding disaster by offering unbureaucratic financial aid from a specially established aid fund.

Mendel added: “It is part of our core business to supply people with power. As soon as the damage to the power supply has been ascertained, we at EQOS Energie will be ready: We would like to support our customers by first performing provisional restoration of the destroyed infrastructure networks in the affected regions and then rebuilding them in succession.”

Thousands of helpers have been deployed to the disaster areas and are working tirelessly. It is only due to their extraordinary commitment that even worse consequences were able to be prevented. EQOS Energie thanks everyone who lent a hand, which also includes numerous employees who volunteered to make such an important contribution to the safety and well-being of our society!
