With the expansion in industrial automation, EQOS Energie is facing additional occupational and health protection challenges as a contractor for renowned industrial companies with a variety of technical safety and environmental requirements. The infrastructure service provider now provided proof for its recently opened locations in Hamburg-Harburg and Seevetal (Hittfeld) that they are in compliance with essential requirements. Certification organisation TÜV Rheinland issued the certification in accordance with the SCC** Rules, Version 2011 (Safety Certificate for Contractors) as of 16 September 2020.
As a result, EQOS Energie meets the unlimited SCC standards (SCC**) for Safety, Health and Environmental Protection (SHE) in its Energy Technology business unit in Hamburg-Harburg and Seevetal. TÜV Rheinland audited the company and the two certified locations as part of a multi-day audit. The standards require organised and continuous self-audits and improvements in the field of occupational safety, environmental protection and collaboration with subcontractors and staffing companies (subcontracted labour).

With the certification according to SCC**, EQOS Energie makes another contribution to its “zero accidents” objective. Eric Mendel, CEO and chairman of the management, rates the receipt of the certificates as follows: “This increases our competitiveness and process certainty in automation, which is an important field for us. With its SCC** certification, EQOS Energie proves that in its new business area the company is familiar with the work processes and other circumstances of the customer’s facility and is able to surely recognize potential safety hazards. This uniform quality standard ensures that all three factors – people, machines and the environment – do not cause any project-related hazards. On the one hand, a certification according to the recognised SCC** standard documents the professionalism of a contractor in meeting the occupational and environmental protection requirements.
