The Wiener Netze project is intended to ensure that the future additional demand for electricity in the context of the energy transformation, e.g., for electric vehicles or heat pumps in the region, can be met. At the same time, it will enable the integration of additional renewable energy from photovoltaics and wind farms south of Vienna.  <\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cThe Ebenfurth substation is an important base for the operation of the power grid south of Vienna and, with this expansion, is set to become an additional hub for the energy transformation,\u201d said Uwe Trampnau, Managing Director and Head of the <a href=\"https:\/\/eqos-energie.com\/en\/energy-technology\/\">Energy Technology<\/a> business unit at EQOS Energie. \u201cWe are delighted to be able to support Wiener Netze in this important step towards the integration of renewable energies, thereby maintaining security of supply and quality of life in the region in line with climate protection targets in the future.\u201d <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Competence and experience as a factor for success<\/h2>\n\n<p>The elements of the new switchgears, which \u201cconvert\u201d the medium-voltage electricity of 30,000 volts into high-voltage electricity of 110,000 volts via a new transformer, are connected by double busbars over an area of around 6,000 square metres, which further increases the security of supply. The excavation work is currently being completed, followed by construction of the foundations. The expansion of the substation is scheduled to be completed by April 2027.  <\/p>\n\n<p>EQOS Energie prevailed over several competitors in the public tender issued by Wiener Netze. \u201cThe experience of our project teams and special installation teams was decisive,\u201d said Sedat Akyildiz, Head of the Substations\/HV Austria profit center. \u201cFrom the efficient use of materials to
