You started your career in logistics and now work as an HR Business Partner at EQOS. How did you come to make the switch to HR?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n After leaving school, I first trained as a shipping clerk, then studied business law and human resources management while working. During my master\u2019s degree program, I worked on my first projects in HR, so my interest in HR-related topics grew steadily. My career path eventually took me into the HR environment where I initially worked as an HR officer and later as an HR Business Partner. Looking back, the various stages of my career have shaped me both professionally and personally. They also provided me with valuable perspectives for my current role.<\/p>\n\n What brought you to EQOS in 2022?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n After my parental leave, I had originally applied for a position in the administrative area of the HR department at EQOS. However, during the application process, I was offered the opportunity to develop my skills in payroll. This was an area in which I had no previous experience and which therefore particularly appealed to me. So I started as a payroll specialist and was able to build a new expertise step by step. What I found particularly attractive was the opportunity to develop new skills while becoming part of a company that actively supports personal development.<\/p>\n\n \u201cCareer paths need not be straight. Often it is the detours that lead to the most exciting opportunities for development.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n Before joining EQOS, you had already worked as an HR Business Partner. When did you first feel the desire to return to this role?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n I have always been particularly enthusiastic about the role of HR Business Partner, because it combines strategic and operational HR work. When the corresponding position was advertised at EQOS, I saw it as an opportunity to draw on my previous experience while also bringing fresh ideas to the table. For me, it was the right time to return to a role that I find professionally very rewarding and in which I am more closely connected to the operating business once again. What exactly does an HR Business Partner do?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n As an HR Business Partner, I see myself as a point of contact and an adviser to executives. Together with my colleagues, I support them in specialist issues relating to employment law and contracts, in conflict situations, during workplace integration management, and with personnel measures. In addition, we provide support during organisational changes, we evolve guidelines and processes, and contribute to various HR projects. <\/p>\n\n What do you particularly value about your current role?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n For me, the role of HR Business Partner is one of the most diverse roles in human resources. I find the diversity of topics and the interaction with people from a wide range of business divisions particularly exciting. Communication plays a key role in this: It is about understanding different interests and perspectives and developing viable solutions together. It is precisely this mix of consulting, strategy, and operational implementation that makes the role so appealing to me.<\/p>\n\n How do you experience the opportunities for development at EQOS?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n My own career path shows that development is actively encouraged at EQOS. I was able to get to know various areas of responsibility within the company and to continuously develop my skills. From the very first minute, I have been supported by my supervisor at the time and by my current supervisor. I particularly appreciate the strong team spirit at EQOS, even across departments. Anyone showing an interest in new topics and wanting to take on responsibility will find plenty of opportunities to develop both professionally and personally at EQOS. The openness to new ideas and the exchange about individual career paths is particularly positive in my opinion.<\/p>\n\n What advice would you give to colleagues who wish to pursue their own development within EQOS?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n I would recommend that they actively raise the topic of their own interests and development goals and that they show initiative. Discussing this with their supervisor is an important first step. In my experience, EQOS supports professional development and a willingness to embrace change. Career development does not always follow a set plan.
